Dry Vermouth Cocktails: Corpse Reviver No.2

Corpse Reviver No.2: No.3 S.E Dry Vermouth, Dry Gin, Lemon Juice, Cointreau, Absinthe

Corpse Revivers have been on the London scene for centuries with first mentions in Punch in 1861. The most common incarnations, No.1 & No.2 were popularised at the The Savoy's American Bar by Harry Craddock in the 30s.
While Harry said that No.1 should "be taken before 11AM, or whenever steam or energy is needed", he believed with No.2 - “Four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again.”
For me, I find our No.2 serene, which taken in any succession has me floating up to heaven!
Our Corpse Reviver No.2 goes light on the Cointreau & lemon juice to balance with the fruit notes of our No.3 S.E. Dry vermouth.
Method:
Mix
30ml London Vermouth Company No.3 S.E. Dry,
30ml London Dry Gin,
15ml Cointreau
15ml lemon juice
With a dash 1-2ml Absinthe
Shake over ice & strain in pre-chilled coupe glasses.
Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
We find herbeous Gins work well here like The Maidstone Distillery's Ranscombe Wild, Foxdenton Estate Company Ltd's English Garden or Beefeater's London Garden.
